Many journalists and visitors to the Venice Biennale press preview days must have had the impression they were collectively stalking Rem Koolhaas. It was quite easy feeling like that since the director of the 14h Venice International Architecture Exhibition was constantly around, busy doing interviews from the early morning or taking part in talks and events.
I'm embedding in this post an extract of a talk that took place on the afternoon of the second preview day in the Spazio Esedra, inside the Giardini.
The talk, entitled "Elements of Architecture - 5,000 Years of Architecture...and Now What? Preserving Architecture?" featured Rem Koolhaas, Ton Büchner and Francesco Bandarin and was moderated by Reinier de Graaf.
This extract focuses on identity, the interpretation of the brief given by the director to the national pavilions and the colour of this year's Biennale. Enjoy.
