In the December 2013 issue of Italian comic book Paperinik Appgrade there is an unpublished story entitled "Paperinika contro la vendicatrice del cattivo gusto" (Super Daisy Duck against the Bad Taste Avenger) that deserves a little post.
The story, written by Valentina Camerini and illustrated by Luca Usai, features a mysterious anti-heroine called Anti-Style who goes around with a bizarre device that can transform anything stylish into a horrid mess.
Soon everybody becomes her victim, from innocent passers-by to famous designer Rick Chic, whose latest collection is turned into an undesirable polkadot nightmare. The comic deserves a mention since Anti-Style takes her revenge also against a boutique called Praduck, parody of Prada, but also for its clever conclusion.
When Super Daisy finally gets her we discover that Anti-Style is actually Antalia Glam, the talented assistant of Rick Chic, who got tired of the "tyranny of fashion".
A woman with a penchant for technology, nauseated by fancy bows and cute ribbons and realising she couldn't stand the industry anymore, Antalia decided indeed to show people you can be badly dressed or unstylish, while being happy all the same. Clever story, isn't it?
